iPhone and iPad Development Services

We provide iPhone and iPad development services (iOS development) to companies and organisations trying to realise their dreams and turn their iPhone App ideas into reality. We also provide the same high quality level of iPhone development/iPad services to other software companies, design studios, agencies and publishers who either lack the in-house skills required, or simply need a helping hand.

We work with companies based all over the world, from the USA and Canada to Indonesia, through-out Europe and, of course, back home here in the UK.

The way we work varies slightly from client to client. Some of our clients have a clear idea of what they want from their iPhone or iPad App, and others are looking more for advise and suggestions from us. We are happy to work either way.

What do you use to develop my iPhone or iPad App for me?

We use Apple Mac's and development tools provided by Apple through the Apple Developer Program:

Xcode
iPhone SDK (iOS development SDK)
Objective-C
Cocoa Touch

We also use tools such as Photoshop to ensure that imagery used within your App is correctly optimised for the iPhone and the iPhone UI.

Do I need to have an Apple Mac for you to work with me?

No, not at all. It's helpful if you have a Mac or Windows PC with iTunes, but it's not essential.

Is there anything I should remember when thinking about my iPhone App?

We're always happy to advise at any stage so feel free to get in touch anytime.

One major thing to remember and think about is how your iPhone App should behave. The way people will use it and interact with it. Remember that the way you use your iPhone is very different to how you use your PC! It's amazing how many people don't always realise that straight away.

What kind of iPhone / iPad Apps do you write?

We don't limit or specify what kind of iOS Apps we get involved with. It's your idea and we'd love to hear about it.

What do I need to have utopia 365 develop my iphone or iPad App for me?

To start with you need your idea and at least a basic specification of some kind outlining what your App is and an idea of how you see it working if possible. Once you have that, get in touch with us and we'll discuss it together, finalise a set of features and provide a quote.

There are a couple of things you will also need at some stage during the development process:

An iPhone Development account with Apple.
Ideally an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad that you can use to test pre-release versions of your App that we will provide during development. If you don't have an iPhone or iPod touch then we can still work on your App and provide screenshots and videos to show you how it's coming together.
Ideally access to a Mac or PC running the latest version of iTunes.

Setting up an iPhone (iOS) Development account with Apple is a relatively trivial task. It will cost you just $99 and it will allow you to submit your finished application to Apple for review and submission to the iPhone App store.

We do not publish your App for you under our own name. Your finished App should be published through your own account. This will allow you to control pricing and revenue streams. We can of course (and nearly always do) handle the whole publishing process for you if you provide us with your Apple iPhone Development account details once it has been setup.

Do I have to publish my App through the iPhone App Store?

Yes and No. It depends on what your App is for. If you want to provide it to the general public then, yes, you will have to publish it through the iPhone App Store.

You can also choose to distribute your App in an Ad Hoc manor. This can be controlled through your iPhone Development account and will allow you to distribute your App to up to 100 people privately. This option is only really suitable for small scale in-house distribution, usually in a corporate environment. For example, maybe you want an iPhone App to allow your staff to access some parts of your corporate intranet? Obviously it is therefore far from ideal to have it on the iPhone App Store so that anybody can download it.
